Flew nonstop from Dallas to Honolulu, then transferred to Aloha Airlines bound for Kahului Airport on Maui, arriving about 7 pm local time—dusk there, and 11 pm by our home-time body clocks.

Picked up our car and drove some 25 miles across the island to our hotel at Kaanapali Beach. Checked in weary from the travel. Retrieved our welcoming cocktails at the bar in the courtyard, did a brief tour of the facilities, and turned in.
