This clever design announces a Chicago exhibition by four artists. It must be remembered that, before the computer age, designs like this had to be laid out and lettered by hand. Anne Long worked at a drawing board, not a keyboard. Where I have the luxury of typing in some text and formatting in any font I like, my mother produced everything from her own hand. In later years she was quite amazed at what a computer can do in her old field. |
