It's final. Jay Travis has been sentenced to a term of 15 years to life.

It's not the best we could have hoped for. On the other hand, there is no such thing as a victory in this case. What would be a fair price to pay for our loss? A true victory would be having Annie back with us. No verdict, no sentence can bring that about.

The judge told those in the courtroom that he got more letters about this case than any in his career. For that we thank all of you, Annie's friends. You made a big impact, and those letters—more than 100 of them—will be ready in the file if and when Jay Travis ever comes up for parole. Through this website we'll keep you posted on any new developments.

Thank you, dear friends, for staying with us through this long dark journey. It's been almost 6 years since that terrible night. In that time we have all become Annie's family, and now together we have some peace.
