Two days later, the update.

Thought you'd want to know how everything's going:

Ed and Gloria spent yesterday cleaning out Annie's apartment, which the police had thoroughly searched and left a mess. Ed made the arrangements for Annie's body to be cremated and the remains sent to Gloria's home in the Santa Cruz area, some 150 miles west of Fresno. Then last evening Ed and Gloria drove back to Santa Cruz. Yesterday they didn't speak with the Fresno PD, leaving the police to put their case together. So whether they actually made an arrest is one piece of information I hope to get from Ed tonight.

I last spoke with Ed this morning. He needed to do a few things today, including phoning the Fresno police to see where the case stands. Gloria has already scheduled a memorial service for next Tuesday, Annie's 21st birthday. Ed feels he can't stay out there that long--nothing to do, no one he knows, just waiting. He needs to be back here among his friends--both those here in Texas and those here on the Internet. Too bad we don't have a good laptop yet! Anyway, Ed was going to take care of a few things today, then maybe take a day by himself, and then come home. So I imagine he'll be back by Saturday.

The greatest help our friends can offer has already been given. I can't tell you how much it helps to read through all the wonderful messages we've received. It's a great comfort.

Chris
