Annie was
born in Decatur, Georgia, 21 years ago today. She lived in
New Hampshire and Texas before the family settled in the San
Lorenzo Valley in 1980. She attended Quail Hollow Elementary,
SLV Jr. and High Schools, graduating in 1994. Annie was
active in community theater in the valley, playing lead roles
in Peter Pan and Once
Upon a Mattress. In her junior year,
Annie was chosen to represent SLV at the Hugh OBrien
Youth Leadership Statewide Conference in Belmont, CA. Annie
worked at Caseys Ice Cream Parlor in Scotts Valley and
The Limited clothing store in Capitola before leaving the
valley to attend Fresno State University in the fall of 1994,
where she was currently a student and worked at Food-For-Less
grocery store as a checker. She was a member of St.
Andrews Episcopal Church.
Annie is
survived by her mother, Gloria Barnes, of Brookdale, CA: her
father, Ed Born-Long of Austin, TX; her brother Jesse
Sanderson of Brookdale, CA; and her grandfather, Fred Barnes
of Scotts Valley, CA. She had many wonderful friends and will
be sorely missed. She recently told her mom she would love to
be Peter Pan and stay young forever. Annie will always be in
our hearts.
