What
can we say about our year? Frankly, not much. We didn’t take any
trips. No one joined (or left) our little family, including critters. We
didn’t add (or delete) anything from our home here at Cactus Hill.
Nothing changed about Chris’s work or Ed’s retirement. So, we
wondered, how can we fill this annual newsletter? This is our space to
revisit the events that occurred during the year. And that’s just what
we will do. For this year’s newsletter, we’ll just share photos and
talk a bit about what goes on around here day after day—the
“events” that made up our 2007.
Let’s
start with Lucky and his playmates—always
good for a laugh. This kitty thinks that, if he’s clever enough and
quick enough, one of these days his lunges at the fish tank will pay
off. What’s even funnier is that the fish play along with him.
Whenever Lucky jumps up next to the tank, this big gold cichlid makes a
beeline for him. Wherever Lucky goes, back and forth in front of the
tank, the fish follows his movements. We don’t know if it’s
aggression or companionship, but it’s mighty darn cute.

Speaking
of cute, have a look over to the right at great-grandson Jonathan, all
decked out for Halloween as Buzz Lightyear. Thanks to Jonathan’s
grandma, our daughter Emilie, for this photo.
Anne,
Chris’s mother, continues to do well at Argent Court, her assisted
living facility near us. She’s received several visits this year from
various friends and relatives. We took this photo out in the courtyard
during a visit from Chris’s cousin Anita.
