Texas
Bluebonnet
(Lupinus texensis)
The Texas favorite and our state
flower. This year's crop wasn't up to 2001 standards, which admittedly was
a banner bluebonnet year. However, Cactus Hill has yielded a few good new
photos of these beauties.
The
one on the right is a baby, just beginning to unfold. The plants are very
distinctive with their groups of six pointed leaves.
