Thistle(Cirsium texanum) We have a nice thistle photo in last year's collection, but it pales by comparison with this amazing specimen. At some stage in its development, the tips of the thistle take on a deeper purple, ending in tiny white "icicles." To really appreciate the detail, click on the photo for a larger version. |
