Blood lilies surround
the fountain in our back yard. Despite a regal and delicate
appearance, this is a hardy flower, well suited to the hot Texas
summer. The friend who gave the bulbs to Ed told him "You can
just throw them down on the ground until you're ready to plant them.
They'll grow anywhere." She was absolutely right. Now these
graceful scarlet trumpets lend brilliance to late summer at Cactus
Hill.
