Tiny Skagway, only seven blocks long and three blocks wide, nestles at the beginning of the Chilkoot Trail, route of the 1898 Yukon Gold Rush stampeders. Our visit fell in the middle of Alaska’s four-year-long celebration of the Gold Rush Centennial.
