To our family: We want to tell all of you how very much we appreciated being part of the reunion in June. Our trip to Illinois added a new dimension to our concept of family. In recent years, as our immediate families have depleted in numbers, we've thought of ourselves as just us three: Ed, Chris, and Chris's mother Anne Long. We've certainly revised that outlook as we met about thirty of you!
We've lived most of our lives apart from one another, and yet we remember the same grandparents. We vary widely in age, and yet we share the same genes. Who knows whether we'll get together again? It would be great, but it doesn't really matter. It was wonderful to meet all of you and to know that we have family out there. Thanks so much for including us.
